Celebrated 30 years of existence in 2014
Vista Clinic celebrated 30 years of psychiatric care in 2014. In June 1984 Dr Japie Vermaak (Psychiatrist) started Vista Clinic with a few beds from his home in Pretoria, South Africa. Today Vista Clinic has 158 beds making Vista one of the largest private psychiatric hospitals in Southern Africa.

"Happiness HELPS .. to liven up our lives and prevent mental illness. Happiness can be created by doing. Helping others, exercising, learning something new, playing and spiritual growth are activities that create happiness". Happiness HELPS is an acronym used to explain things to do to prevent mental illness. HELPS stands for:

Help others e.g make your colleague a cup of coffee when they least expect it
Exercise e.g take the stairs instead of the lift
Learn e.g Learn to say hello in a different language
Play e.g sing aloud along with the music
Spiritual growth e.g. read your bible, pray
